60 day extreme workout

Insanity: Day 35

If I ever doubted the insanity  of this program, I don’t anymore. Max interval training is INSANE!  I have a feeling tomorrow will be worse. I woke up at 6:15 this morning before any of the kids and within about 20 seconds I felt sick to my stomach. My morning went something like this: Woke up 6:15 Found myself quickly in the bathroom 6:35  3 year old wakes up in my bed 6:36 I lay down  next to him to try to get him to go back to sleep. 6:38 found myself in the bathroom again 6:52 back in bed…

Insanity- Day 21

I was back upstairs by 8:15 and it felt so late in the morning. Today was a day you had to do Pure Cardio and Abs. Why completing today’s workout felt like such an accomplishment: Kids were awake from the moment I woke up. The dog is home with a cone on his head from getting fixed.  There was a rough few minutes of me feeding the baby really having to go to the bathroom and being afraid the dog was going to pee in the house…again. The boys either fought or wanted my attention almost the entire workout. The…

An Insanity T-shirt- Day 13

An Insanity T-shirt- Day 13 Almost two weeks into this workout routine now, I’ve been really thinking about how much I will deserve the Insanity T-shirt when I’ve finished my 60 days. To receive one all someone has to do is send in a before and after picture. Hmmm. Let’s think about this. First I should mention I forgot to take a ‘before’ picture. My husband and I were so excited to receive our DVD’s in the mail when we did; we started the very next day. I did however have my 4 year old son take a before picture…

Insanity- Day 12

Today’s workout blessing was our lovely new venue.  We are vacationing with 4 other families in a huge cabin with a game room. My workout was completed in a very large space with my closest neighbor a pool table. The 42inch flat screen TV energized my husband and I and as a result we both pushed hard. I suppose another factor was our late start time. We had already woken up, fed the kids and I honestly thought my chances for a workout were over, but another sympathetic mommy watched the kiddos for us, while we went upstairs. My gratefulness…

Insanity-Day 6

Plyometric Cardio This is the second time for this workout. I was much improved from the last time we did the video. Even my husband noticed. Although it was another tough day getting out of bed, I feel very determined. This is by far the most difficult video out of the ones done so far. I don’t come close to doing the number of reps the instructors are doing, but I try to go at my own pace , always sweating, keeping energy high and ,careful to maintain good form. I try to only break for the allotted water…

Insanity Day 5

I’ve heard it said the battle for the next day is often lost the night before. As a result I have been putting forth a diligent effort to go to bed early enough so I can easily get up early in the morning. I’m not regularly a morning person so this is a struggle for me. My head hit the pillow at about 10:30 last night. So far, so good.  Then I just couldn’t seem to get to sleep.  I usually read, but found myself watching a show on Netflix in bed on my phone. Fell asleep close to 11.…

Insanity- Day 4

Cardio Recovery For a workout with the word ‘recovery’ in the title I still found myself quite challenged. I tried to work on my form and stay with the workout, but I found myself needing to rest a few times. I’m always amazed at how difficult deep stretching can be.  My 3 year old, Noah started out pretty early in the work out with me this morning. As a mom who wants to teach her children to do her best, I found myself pushing a little more because he was watching. His form was terrible, but the fact he came…

Insanity- Day 2

Insanity-Day 2 Plyometric Cardio Circuit Wow! That was INTENSE! This is my favorite type of workout. It’s meant for an athlete. All the drills reminded me of “Hell Week” in high school sports. If you ever played sports in high school you might remember suicides and high knees. So does Shawn T. the trainer in the video Shawn T. rivaled in 41 minutes (including warm up and cool down) what most high school coaches made their athletes do in a week. OK, I’m sure I’m exaggerating a bit, but it really felt  bad an hour ago in the middle of…
