Intentional Living | Choices for the New Year

Several months ago on the way home from a friends house,in my van, with my 7 children, it hit me.

I want to live intentionally.

I want to chase my dreams with purpose and joy.

THIS is MY life.

I’m not talking the, “Holy Crap, this is my life and I can’t believe we now have to have a passenger van!” sort of thought, but more of a realistic epiphany about who I am, where I want to be and how I’m going to let God get me to where He wants me to be.  I was created with purpose!!

I’m 35.  In the throws of wifedom and motherhood, some days we are in all out survival mode, but for the most part we are in a good groove, have a routine that works for us and my joy has been restored.

OH.MY.GOSH.  35!!

I could very well be mid-life (or less) and not even know it yet!!

So, basically,in a single moment, right there on old hwy 395 (a road I, literally, learned to drive on) I decided I was going to live every day to the fullest.  I am going to walk in joy, love my husband and appreciate my children.

I commit to NO MORE:

  • Complaining
  • Wondering what the next “season” will look like
  • Yelling
  • tuning out
  • checking my emails when my children are hungry

I will choose to:

  •  find joy in the little things
  • read to my children for fun
  • take more nature days
  • eat for nourishment not for pleasure
  • write
  • surf again
  • use kind tones
  • read more books
  • pray daily for my husband
  • work on my ministry
  • live intentionally
  • train for my purpose

I know who I am in Christ and He has made me a hardworking, bold, lover of His Word.  If we want to move to Idaho and run a farm, now is the time!! If I want to write a book, then it’s time I get that outline done.   Today is the day. Tomorrow isn’t promised to us!!

I wonder if my new goal planner is contributing to my fervor….hmmmm

Do you have any goals for intentional living this year? Do you know your purpose?  Let me know in the comments and I’ll talk more about this topic via FB LIVE on Friday.
