10 Ways to Obey God that Will Bring You More Joy!

10 Ways to Obey God that Will Bring you More Joy   1. Pray: Praying out loud or on paper is a game changer. I could never personally keep up with a traditional prayer “journal”, so now I just journal my own way with bright pretty sharpies and blank white paper. I do it on my own time and I can still go back and read old prayer request etc, but it is way more fun and lively for me. I think about the person or situation I’m praying about and write out bullet points or character…

10 Tuesday | 10 Ways My Children (ok, toddlers) are like Puppies

You probably know by now, I’m a mother to 5 adorably rambunctious children under the age of six…no twins.  (No, my uterus hasn’t fallen out yet.) But what you may not know is days after the birth of our 3rd child we moved into a house with some property and just weeks after the move we were given a puppy. Thanks dad!  I remember being astonished at the ways training a puppy was like raising a child.   10 Ways Children are like puppies:   They both chew on everything and you rarely figure out what the “something” is.…

Be A Better Mom Monday| Trusting the Lord | YOUR Will Not Mine, Be Done

My head was about to explode. My first venture out with all 5 children and the pickup of my 5 year old from his Awanas class was not going well. I had a handsome newborn in a stroller, and 3 other active children trying to pull out hymnals, pencils and pads of paper from all different pews. The teacher was running past 5 o’clock and these kids were hungry and difficult to contain. As the class finally ended and I had just gotten everyone’s hands touching the stroller to exit the building, I was stopped by a young woman.…

Be A Better Mom Monday |Don’t Speed

I’m sure you are a better human being than me and obey all traffic laws. I sincerely hope you do.  Since we have had children I have really noticed the hypocrisy of trying to get them to follow the rules when we, as grown-ups, don’t follow those we are given, primarily, traffic laws.    As my 3 and 5 year olds have started to inquire about why we do everything we do while we are driving and why some people are pulled over by “cop cars” etc, I’ve really noticed the challenge in maintaining integrity in this area of life.…

Be A Better Mom Monday | Praying for Your Children

The importance of prayer is pressed on my heart lately.  Last month’s post on 10 Daily Prayers for Your Children reminded me we have been praying for our children since they have been in the womb.   We pray for: spouses strengths and weakness God’s purpose for them salvation   Recently, a friend has been posting from this Facebook Page and the prayers have really stirred my heart to pray more specifically for my children.  The page has beautiful scriptures to pray for your children. I’ve been so blessed to read and share them every day. Prayers for:   Purity…

Fitness Friday |Why I Will Let My Children See Me Exercise

I love Exercise. I’m just one of those kind of people. Whether it be a class, the gym, sports, or just running wherever I can, I have always just enjoyed being active.  Ever since I’ve become a mom I’ve struggled with the balance of time, energy and will. We graduated from a single jogger to a double jogger and then finally to a triple jogger, but with baby number 5 on the way and a 5 year old who doesn’t ride a bike very fast I see more and more my exercise becoming limited. I jog or walk on the…

10 Daily Prayers for Your Children

I really want to add praying specifically for my children to my morning reading time.   Here are 10 prayers I came up with I’d like to pray EVERY morning.   My children would love and serve the Lord with their whole hearts from a young age. For them to have pure testimonies, never knowing what it is to live away from serving God. They would save themselves both emotionally and physically for their spouses. They would love and have a hunger for God’s Word. They would learn to practice self-control from an early age. Their desire would be to put…

Announcing Baby #5

We’ve recently announced to family and friends baby # 5 is on the way.  We knew I was pregnant for several weeks before we shared our precious news with people.  Sadly, this was because, I wasn’t ready to hear everybody’s reaction to our 5th child. Some might say “Why does what people think matter.” or “I’m surprised you would be so affected”, but it is very sad indeed when people choose to not fully rejoice over new life and the burden of our societies outlook on conception, babies, children and the number they feel couples should have was too…
